PLAYING WITH POLLINATORS

Learn about the exciting world of pollinators! From bees to lemurs, pollinators are an important part of our ecosystems. Participants will learn about the basics of pollination, the life cycle of the honeybee, get to look at bee specimens, and learn how they can help pollinators in their community. Program has a particular focus on the interaction of plants and animals, and features examples of live pollinator-friendly plants and a solitary bee house.

Available as a classroom lesson/presentation, or as a booth for festival-type events. Suitable for ages 5+, please specify age of audience when booking.

CAREERS IN PLANT SCIENCE

From tiny wildflowers, to towering redwoods, the planet is covered in plants. This one hour seminar introduces students to the importance of plant science and potential careers in the field. We will discuss resources, amazing botanists from history, perform a hands-on planting activity and discuss the amazing things plant science has done for society. This program is perfect for AP Biology classes, girl scout troops, extracurricular STEM groups and library programs.

Suitable for middle school and high school students.
